NORTON - When mourners visited my family I saw people from all walks of life most of who I do not know personally neither am I related to them. They visited in their thousands to console me and mourn with my family over the departure of my son. I saw love and the outpouring of grief. I saw sincerity in the mourners and how equally devastated they were - how their hearts were shattered, broken by the loss of Sam. I did not see music between me and those thousands of mourners - I simply saw people mourning, grieving. I saw how possible it is for mankind to love one another… to stop fighting and hating. If we love we make the world a much better place. Many friends called me from all over the world expressing their condolences. Some sent roses. Today mourners continue visiting. When I walk down the street even many more people stop me. They want to express their sympathies. I am touched - I am greatly honoured to have so many friends amongst the nations of the world. It is ridiculous indeed to attempt to thank you all for words cannot suffice. No expression - no deed - neither the most appropriate of words of gratitude ever can convey how grateful I am. But all the same I thank you from the depth of my heart. Your love must extend to the next person - touch many more hearts the manner you touched mine. - Oliver Mtukudzi - tukumusik.com |
