MASVINGO – On a night when the temperature fell to single digits Masvingo still came out in amazing numbers in a show of love for Tuku as he continued with his countrywide tour especially dedicated to the outlaying areas where he has not performed in years and in some places close to a decade now. For Masvingo it was not only about the biting cold. It was the somewhat wintry showers too. It took the truly ardent Tuku fan to leave home in that weather. But we are blessed we have many such fervent admirers of our music. To at least a good thousand or so fans who braved Friday’s cold in this southern region city, for a dance with us, we thank you for the support. We owe it to you for that love!
^ Tuku performing in Masvingo last Friday. Tuku had last performed here over six years back. Masvingo fans of Tuku’s were lucky as Tuku’s latest album Kutsi Kwemoyo went on sale for the first time in the city at Friday’s show. Before Tuku’s performance here he held more shows in the Beitbridge border town a fortnight back when he also visited Gweru and the peri-urban Domboshawa near Harare as part of this countrywide tour that continues. – Shepherd Mutamba/tukumusik.com |
