NORTON – Last night Tuku hosted a tribute gig in memory of his son Sam and shared the stage with a number of artists and friends of the younger Mtukudzi. Tuku cancelled his birthday anniversary shows held around the week of 22 September, his birthday, in respect of his son’s departure in March. He said he would not celebrate his birthday in the same year of the death of his child.
Instead Tuku chose a tribute show for Sam on the same day of the launch of Cheziya, his son’s posthumous release. The show was aptly called “Wednesday To Remember Sam”.
