NORTON -Tuku and The Black Spirits stage a farewell show at Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton on Saturday 05 February before the superstar leaves for a two-month tour overseas.

Saturday’s show, the last public performance by Tuku in Zimbabwe until April, is being held indoors in the newly built Sam Mtukudzi Conference Centre.

The farewell is a family show starting at 12pm to cater exactly for families but also stretching well into the night. Admission is $5 throughout.

Supporting Tuku and The Black Spirits are The Golden Girls, Munya Mataruse and Donald Kanyuchi.

The Saturday show was initially meant to open Tuku’s public performances for 2011 when his diary was being made last year. But due to the ever overwhelming demand for Tuku Music we shuffled our dates picking up two shows ahead of what was meant to be the actual 2011 opener.

Tuku is touring South America, the USA and the UK performing acoustically with mbira/hosho player Phillip Tsikirayi on the Acoustic Africa Tour of USA where they join other African artists specialising in acoustic instruments. Later The Black Spirits join Tuku for the UK shows.

On return Tuku picks up a few shows but his main one is his welcome party at the HICC in Harare on Friday 29 April promoted by our own Tuku Music Promotions. – tukumusik.com
